Book Road Farmhouse

This is a true sprawling farmhouse on a couple of hundred acres, minutes from the town centre. We have had the pleasure of working with these clients over several projects and many years. While some projects are a “one and done”, others just evolve and grow over time; like good friends. The kitchen just needed a few tweaks, like updating the fussy Austrian valences to simple romans shades, painting out the kitchen chairs in a striking black with new houndstooth fabric upholstery, and replacing the chandelier with a fun six armed pendant. (This eating area overlooks the “pond” and we’ve recently replaced this kitchen table with a river table that has a blue-green epoxy that couldn’t match the pond more perfectly.) The creamy and elegant living room is a rather formal and grand surprise, yet it is so inviting, relaxed and livable - it’s a delightful treat to spend some time here. I believe we first met over this Ralph Lauren sofa! Other things I still love about this room: the tufted, skirted daybed that doesn’t block the window, the black and gold console with antique mirror and lions head hardware, and, oh yes, that cocktail table. Divine. We’re currently working on another project on this property - and can’t wait to update with the new photos!

Let's talk about your next design project.
